Windows Vista x64 Component 2.5.7

With Vista Codec Package installed, you won´t need to install any other codec or filter. Many user suggested default settings are implemented. It does not contain a media player. It does not associates filetypes.

The codec packs contains a Settings Application to use in conjunction with your windows media center setup which will enable each user to choose different splitters and decoders for specific filetypes. The application will also allow you to choose from 10 different speaker configurations from 'same as input' and all the way up to full 7.1 channel output.

To setup FLAC audio playback in Windows Media Center you must initially select the x64 WMP as the default player. For Windows 7 Media Center users, this can be set back to the 32bit afterwards.

2 versions of Windows Media Player exist on x64 systems. There is a 32bit version stored in \Program Files (x86)\ and a 64bit version stored in \Program Files\

The 32bit player has better codec support at this time provided by the Vista Codec Package.

The x64 Components package is a fully functional standalone installation that can be included in an unattended environment using the switch -ai.

With this package installed you will be able to use any media player (limited only by the players capabilities) to play DVD´s, movies and video clips of any format. Streaming video (real and quicktime) is supported in web browsers. Visit the homepage to get a 64bit Addon which enables xvid, divx and DVD playback in Vista MediaCenter.

Do you want to watch your favorite video in MediaCenter? These components are tested on Vista Ultimate x64. This release is fully compatible with the 32bit codecs installed by the Vista Codec Package. t is fully uninstallable through the Windows interface. This release will not install on a x86 systems.
